I've gone to church all my life
Learned right and wrong and black and white
But this area of gray called grace
Keeps standing up to take its place
Debunking all I've seen, all this time
But I can't find anywhere that seems to fit
For years I've thought that this is finally it
And maybe I'm the problem here
And maybe I'm not seeing clear
But something about the system doesn't sit
I sing
I'm not looking for perfection
I'm looking for intention
Do you know the Father
Do you want to share his grace
And make this world a brighter place
Seems we've made a mockery of love
Mixed politics and made it push and shove
An overcomplicated game
Of casting stones and passing blame
As my Father keeps on watching from above
And he sings
I'm not looking for perfection
I'm looking for intention
Do you know the Father
Do you want to share his grace
And make this world a brighter place
Come with me son
Come with me daughter
This is far from the end and you should know
That I am alive here
Open the window
Don't be afraid to let this brightness show
...
Where is God in the churches?
I'll find him on my own
Where is God in the churches?
I'll find him on my own
In the wilderness alone
