"Everybody's Preaching"

You say that you don't preach
We're all a soapbox high
When we open up our mouths
And let our theories fly
You say that you don't teach
But there's a lesson to be learned
That we're a give and take society
As far as I'm concerned

[chorus]
You're preaching
In silence and in speech
You're preaching, You're preaching
Everybody's preaching
From their own pulpit
We're preaching
Even if we never know it

You say that you don't judge
But you're holding up a light
To guide your own opinions
On what's wrong and right
You say that you won't budge
That you've taken up a stance
But remember how perception changes
Upon a second glance

[chorus]
You're preaching
In silence and in speech
You're preaching, You're preaching
Everybody's preaching
From their own pulpit
We're preaching
Even if we won't admit it

And can you feel it?
Oh, the weight lift
And can you feel it?
The atmosphere shift
Is it in your favor
This time, give it up
Pull back the line

[chorus]
You're preaching
In silence and in speech
You're preaching, You're preaching
Everybody's preaching
Trying to build their own regime
I'm reaching for more
Than just a one-man dream
