"Sticks And Stones"

You say that words are just words
Neither encourage nor curse
But words can build walls or worlds

You should know you're not the first
To take it so lightly
To think the added effect is unlikely

[chorus]
Won't you think
Won't you think before you speak
Don't you think
There's power in how you think
Don't you think
That sticks and stones could make you bleed
On the face as well as underneath

When did the world go numb
Did everybody take a bullet wound
So they stick to their guns

I don't wanna live like that
Complacent and disconnected
I was meant to feel, even with a heart that's cracked

[chorus]
Won't you think
Won't you think before you speak
Don't you think
There's power in how you think
Don't you think
That sticks and stones could make you bleed
On the face as well as underneath

Keep reaching
Keep reaching for a meaning underneath it all
I'd rather live a life of wisdom
Install a door on these four walls
Remember that our houses are made of glass
And think twice before the sticks and stones we cast

Does it matter, does it matter
That you could shatter
Does it matter, does it matter
That you could shatter
